John Sawatsky Of Windsor, Ontario Named
2006 CARQUEST Excellence Award Winner

RALEIGH, NC (Oct. 9, 2006) -- John Sawatsky, owner of MSJ Automotive Services Ltd. in Windsor, Ontario, has been named the 2006 CARQUEST Excellence Award Winner. He was presented the award Oct. 6 in Orlando, Fla.

The CARQUEST Excellence Award seeks to recognize the independent automobile service business that, through the course of everyday service excellence, exemplifies the professionalism necessary to build public understanding and respect for people working in the auto service industry today.

MSJ is a 9,000 square foot repair facility located in Windsor, Ontario. Along with a repair facility, it has an additional 3,000 square foot building dedicated to emission testing. MSJ employs 12 with 6 licensed technicians and 3 apprentices and is a member of the TECH-NET Professional Auto Service program, which is one of the many solutions CARQUEST Auto Parts provides Sawatsky for his business.

In the November 2005 SSGM Magazine, Sawatsky said, "The (TECH-NET) banner program provides us with an image and gives us a standard to maintain. We have a local Essex County council set up by myself and the local CARQUEST stores, and we meet here three or four times a year to bring everyone up to speed on what TECH-NET is doing. We share ideas and learn what our peers are doing. The image issue is key. Shops need to consistently raise the bar and improve our shops year over year. The worst thing we can do is stand still. The automakers aren't standing still and we can't either."
