Here is a note from Barry ( Greg Guyitt is also testing the Lankar system as well-- )
I had a demo from Brigitte of Lankar today. They have a FREE version of their program available. The main goal of this Lite program is to reach the shops that are still writing invoices.
It will allow them to electronically create invoices, keep customer-vehicle-history records and, for a $25.00 fee ( NOTE from GREG H = I think Barry is wrong on this- the CQ ordering os included --but if you want ANOTHER source - then additional set-ups cost extra ) , allow them to order from Carquest on-line. There is a $149.00/year support fee if the customer wants to order on-line. If they don‚t need on-line ordering they can continue to use the program for no charge. The support fee also allows them to use the hotline for any questions or problems relating to the Lankar program. The free version is designed to give something of value to a shop and hopefully, make them want to move up to the full-blown version.
The full-blown version has a lot of features not in the Lite program.
- Full inventory
- Customer follow-up and marketing
- Accounting, up to, but not including, a trial balance.
Greg H asked me to rate it on a scale of one to ten. My initial reaction is Mitchell would be a 7 and Lankar would be a 9.
The price for the full-blown package is $1299 plus $450 for a multi-user. Support is $300 a year. Lankar will give 6 months interest-free for the initial installation. They will give you all the assistance you need to get the program running to your satisfaction.
